Window to Nature
This series of Landscapes celebrates the beauty of nature. I am attracted to places where water flows, such as rivers, lakes, creeks, and the oceans. Some of my paintings depicting distant fog and misty wetlands that take the viewer into a dream; some scenes are beside the charming seacoast where waves come and go. Several landscapes show calming creeks that reflect the beautiful sunset on the water. My paintings also have exciting moments with streams happily dancing and running down waterfalls, splashing onto the rocks and into the turquoise water where the color of the sky is reflected. The force of the water rushing under a bridge makes you wonder about the energy of nature. My art catches the brilliance of glowing light on the lake, as well as the sunbeams peeping through the leaves and casting their beautiful shadows on the ground, or the dusk light before sundown, hazy, murky views that contain the mystery of the world.
I often like to use a palette knife and varied brushstrokes to create different textures to form depth and to mimic the unique material of the objects. Also, the rough surfaces sometimes indicate our lives do not always go smoothly. I want my paintings to have a painterly feel, and save some room for the viewer’s imagination. I use saturated colors to generate a happy, optimistic feeling.

In every walk with nature one receives far more than he seeks.
